Dr. Michael D. Richardson is the Clinical Director at Recovery Resources. After receiving his doctorate from the University of Maine in 1978, Michael went on to become a licensed professional counselor in Illinois and Missouri and is IAODAPCA reciprocal certified in substance abuse. He has been a substance abuse clinician, therapist, trainer and community organizer at Recovery Resources for most of his 25-year career. Michael has also been a lecturer in Chemical Dependency at Quincy University since 1985. He is the developer of “ONTRAK”, a youth intervention program and has been instrumental in the development of violence prevention services. Currently, Michael counsels violent and disruptive students attending alternative schools and oversees all the Clinical offerings at Recovery Resources. Over the last four years he has researched the Methamphetamine problem in West Central Illinois. He is the principal author of a manual designed to help other counselors and clinicians treat clients who abuse Methamphetamine and other high intensity drugs. He has presented numerous workshops and programs throughout the State on this topic including most recently at the IADDA Fall Conference in Chicago. Michael was selected to attend the Midwest Governor’s Conference on Methamphetamine in Sioux City, Iowa last year. Michael and his wife Tresa live in New London, Missouri with their two children.
